Zack Wheeler, Kevin Plawecki Undergo X-Rays, CT Scan
Zack Wheeler (chest) and catcher Kevin Plawecki (ribs) both underwent CT scans after their win over the Dodgers on Wednesday. X-rays on Wheeler came back negative. Wheeler was hit by a comebacker in the chest, while Plawecki was drilled by a pitch in his ribs. Wheeler was sharp in the win over LA, allowing three runs on three hits (two homers) while walking two and fanning nine in seven innings. He now has a 3.39 ERA on the season and is 10-7. Hopefully he'll be able to make his next start. Plawecki's injury may be more concerning, especially with Devin Mesoraco (back, neck) injured on Monday. Tomas Nido would be the primary catcher if Plawecki has to miss any time.
