Zack Moss 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Not on the Fantasy Radar After Bengals Released Him
Zack Moss signed a two-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals last offseason. He began the 2024 season as the Bengals' lead back before a neck injury sidelined him for the year. Chase Brown took over as RB1 after Moss' injury and was given a workhorse role in the second half of the season. Moss is now reportedly healthy and re-worked his deal so he could seemingly remain with the team. It's unclear what role he will have in 2025, and he will likely work behind Brown, given the latter's play to close the season. Cincinnati did add running back Tahj Brooks in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team is reportedly quite bullish on Brooks, so he could challenge Moss for the RB2 job. Even if Moss wins the backup running back job, he has a long injury history dating back to college and may not provide much fantasy value. Moss is not a priority late-round target in drafts, as there's no guarantee he will have a large role in the Bengals' offense this year. Update 8/2/2025: The Bengals released Moss on July 30 to open a roster spot to activate Trey Hendrickson. Moss goes from valuable handcuff to being off the fantasy radar. He will look to latch onto another team this offseason. With Moss out of the picture, the Bengals will roll with Brown, Samaje Perine, and Brooks as their main running backs for 2025.
