Yusei Kikuchi To Start Again Saturday
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi will make his next start on Saturday against the Angels. The Mariners skipped Kikuchi's scheduled start on Tuesday as a way to give the Japanese left-hander some rest after a recent run of ineffectiveness. His velocity had been down a bit in recent outings as well. Hopefully the extra rest will do the 27-year-old well, and he'll have a pretty good matchup in which to bounce back. The southpaw is 3-3 on the year with a 4.43 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 67 innings over his first 13 major league starts. In two starts against the Halos this year they've had his number, as he's allowed 20 hits and 10 earned runs while walking four and striking out three in 8 1/3 innings.
