Yusei Kikuchi Spins Seven Solid Frames In Loss

Seattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi was effective in the team's 5-2 loss to the Athletics on Friday. The southpaw gave up two earned runs over 7.0 innings, while walking one batter and striking out five for his best start in nearly a month. Kikuchi hasn't impressed in his first year in the Majors, posting a 4-6 record with a 4.94 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and a mere 73 strikeouts in 98.1 innings this season. He continues to serve up home runs with a 1.74 HR/9 and isn't missing enough bats to show any fantasy value. Kikuchi can be ignored in all formats with some hope that he can resurrect himself in the second half when the M's come out of the All Star Break late next week.
