Yusei Kikuchi Solid In Final Start
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi pitched six shutout innings while allowing four hits and three walks in a no decision against the Athletics on Friday. This was a great start for Kikuchi, but it was only his third quality start of the season. He will take a 5.17 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into the postseason. Kikuchi always seems to have hype surrounding him in the offseason, but he has never performed well in MLB. He has had a bad WHIP and an ERA over five in both of his major league seasons and pitches for a bad offense. I'm not sure where Kikuchi will rank heading into 2021, but I expect it will be higher than it should be.
