Yoshinobo Yamamoto To Make Spring Debut On Wednesday
10 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers. After signing a 12-year, $325 million deal with the Dodgers this offseason, Yamamoto is expected to serve as the team's ace to open the 2024 season. The 25-year-old will be eased into the big leagues in the States with the Dodgers going with a six-man starting rotation. He won the Pacific League MVP award in each of the last three seasons while pitching in Japan and is expected to start one of the team's two games to open the year in Korea against the San Diego Padres on March 20-21. Despite his small frame, Yamamoto hits the upper-90s with his fastball with ease and features impeccable command with his other offerings. While being backed by LA's strong offense, Yamamoto has ace potential right away in fantasy.
