Yolmer Sanchez Agrees With Giants
5 years agoThe San Francisco Giants agreed to a minor league deal with second baseman Yolmer Sanchez on Tuesday, according to a source. Sanchez turned down major league offers from other teams for a chance to earn the starting second base job in San Francisco. The switch-hitting 27-year-old hit just .252/.318/.321 with two home runs, 43 RBI and five steals in 149 games for the White Sox in 2019, and he has a career .244 average with 31 homers, 214 RBI and 30 steals in six big league seasons. Sanchez's main competition at the keystone will come from Mauricio Dubon and Donovan Solano. You can ignore him in mixed leagues, and he'd only be worth your time in NL-only leagues if he earns an everyday job.
