2 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Yency Almonte got his first chance to face major league hitters on Thursday, and it was flawless. Almonte was the only Rockies pitcher to appear in the game who didn't allow a hit, and his inning was the only relief inning in which a run didn't score. Almonte was a mediocre Triple-A starter, but perhaps the bullpen could be his calling. His numbers from the minors aren't encouraging, but he certainly wouldn't be the first pitcher to transition to relief and suddenly become dramatically more effective. Fantasy owners in holds leagues should take a wait-and-see approach though.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
