Yasiel Puig Going On DL, Brock Stewart Called Up

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig (hip) is headed to the DL after colliding with the right field foul wall in San Francisco and hurting his hip Saturday. In his first at-bat after the collision, he fouled a ball off his toe and the two injuries forced him from the game. He was later diagnosed with hip soreness, which will keep him from action this week, including the historic series with the Padres in Monterrey, Mexico. Right-hander Brock Stewart has been called up to take his place and will start tomorrow. Puig has been ice cold this season, but his hard hit rates and exit velocities are promising. He's mostly been the victim of bad luck, so he's a great buy-low for players with space on their bench. The move, along with Matt Kemp's quad soreness, will likely open up playing time for Alex Verdugo, the Dodgers'top hitting prospect who was called up on Saturday.
