Yankees Interested In Blake Treinen
The New York Yankees are one of the teams interested in trading for Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Blake Treinen, according to sources. The A's could facilitate a trade with Treinen, who is a non-tender candidate this offseason. The 31-year-old's stock is way down after he posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 16 saves in 58 2/3 innings after losing the closer's job to Liam Hendriks. That came after he was one of the best closers in baseball in 2018, sporting a microscopic 0.78 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 11.2 K/9 and career-high 38 saves in 80 1/3 innings. His fantasy stock will also be down going into 2020 without a clear path to saves in Oakland or elsewhere. If he were to land in the Bronx, he'd strictly be a setup man ahead of closer Aroldis Chapman.
