Yankees Interested In Blake Treinen
5 years agoThe New York Yankees are one of the teams interested in trading for Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Blake Treinen, according to sources. The A's could facilitate a trade with Treinen, who is a non-tender candidate this offseason. The 31-year-old's stock is way down after he posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 16 saves in 58 2/3 innings after losing the closer's job to Liam Hendriks. That came after he was one of the best closers in baseball in 2018, sporting a microscopic 0.78 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 11.2 K/9 and career-high 38 saves in 80 1/3 innings. His fantasy stock will also be down going into 2020 without a clear path to saves in Oakland or elsewhere. If he were to land in the Bronx, he'd strictly be a setup man ahead of closer Aroldis Chapman.
