Yandy Diaz Should Be Back In Saturday's Lineup
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Yandy Diaz (groin) hasn't played since leaving the game early last Sunday against the New York Yankees with tightness in his left groin. However, manager Kevin Cash said Diaz was "doing really, really well" when the team returned home on Friday, and he should be back in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Cash said Diaz wanted to play on Friday, but the team wanted to be cautious and give him another day off. Diaz, who entered the weekend with an American League-leading 1.022 OPS, was "totally available" off the bench Friday. The 31-year-old Cuban also has a league-leading .321 batting average and league-leading .429 on-base percentage, so fantasy managers should be ready to slide him back into their starting lineups on Saturday.
