Xavier Legette 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: First-Rounder, Second Season, Third-Rate Option
Xavier Legette was selected at the end of the first round by the Carolina Panthers in the 2024 NFL Draft, but his rookie season was unspectacular. Legette's 49 receptions on 84 targets for 497 yards and four touchdowns left him as just the season's WR60 in PPR formats. Although Legette led Carolina in both receptions and targets a season ago, he also struggled with drops. Moreover, the Panthers took standout receiver prospect Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall this past spring, giving them a new presumptive top receiving option. Carolina also returns a young wideout in Jalen Coker and veteran option Adam Thielen in addition to Legette. To make matters worse, the Panthers had the third-fewest passing yards and fifth-worst net yards per pass attempt in the league last season, and these metrics seem unlikely to improve significantly in 2025. Legette has gone as the WR66 in fantasy drafts this offseason, accurately reflecting his value as a bench stash. Legette will need to navigate a more crowded receiving room and likely inconsistent quarterback play from Bryce Young in order to provide solid output for fantasy managers this season.
