7/1:Tampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos drove in four runs Saturday versus the Astros. In fact, the only run he didn't drive in was the eventual game-winner in the 5-2 victory. Ramos is among the league leaders for hits as a catcher in 2018. Ramos now has 11 home runs and 43 RBI to go with a fantasy-friendly .291 batting average. The batting average and stats are much more appealing given the standards for catchers to be useful in fantasy. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. There is also speculation that Ramos and Washington could be a good fit in the mid-season trade market. Washington could use some offensive help at the position and the Rays likely would like to get something for Ramos before he becomes a free agent. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. A trade to Washington might even help Ramos out slightly. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher.--Jamie Mellor - RotoBaller
