Wilson Ramos Drives In Four Saturday Versus Houston
Wilson Ramos drove in four runs Saturday versus the Astros. In fact, the only run he didn't drive in was the eventual game-winner in the 5-2 victory. Ramos is among the league leaders for hits as a catcher in 2018. Ramos now has 11 home runs and 43 RBI to go with a fantasy-friendly .291 batting average. The batting average and stats are much more appealing given the standards for catchers to be useful in fantasy. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. There is also speculation that Ramos and Washington could be a good fit in the mid-season trade market. Washington could use some offensive help at the position and the Rays likely would like to get something for Ramos before he becomes a free agent. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. A trade to Washington might even help Ramos out slightly. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher.
