Willie Calhoun To Have Surgery Tuesday
3 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (forearm) will undergo surgery on Tuesday to fix his fractured left ulna in his forearm. We'll have a better idea of how long Calhoun might be out after his surgery, but there's a good chance that we won't see him again in 2021. The 26-year-old was having a disappointing season before the injury, slashing .254/.323/.385 with only five home runs, 23 runs scored and 19 RBI in 226 plate appearances spanning 59 games. Don't feel required to hang onto him in deeper fantasy formats. Jason Martin, who has hit .162 (6-for-37) with 16 strikeouts, will see an increase in playing time with Calhoun sidelined, but he's only worth consideration in AL-only leagues.
