White Sox Talking Trade For Joc Pederson
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox have engaged in preliminary trade talks involving Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson, according to two people with direct knowledge of the talks. The White Sox have spent a major league-leading $123 million to retain first baseman Jose Abreu and sign catcher Yasmani Grandal so far this offseason as they attempt to contend in 2020. Chicago has also inquired about free-agent outfielder Nick Castellanos, although Pederson would come cheaper. Pederson hit a career-high 36 home runs and had 74 RBI last season. He's projected to earn $8.5 million in his final year of arbitration. While Pederson whiffs too much to carry a respectable batting average, he'll remain fantasy relevant for his power stroke. Moving to a hitter-friendly park in Chicago in an improving lineup wouldn't be bad news for his fantasy value moving forward.
