2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox placed starting pitcher Lucas Giolito on the bereavement list on Monday and reinstated right-hander Joe Kelly (groin) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Giolito allowed four runs and struck out five batters while going seven innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, but he'll now be away from the team for a few days. There's a good chance the 28-year-old right-hander will be able to make his next scheduled start this Friday against the Rays again. Giolito has 28 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched over his five starts this year, but he's also allowed 15 runs (14 earned) on 27 hits (four home runs) for a 4.50 ERA (4.26 FIP). Kelly, 34, will return to being a late-inning bullpen guy for Chicago, and he has some value in holds leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
