Washington Optimistic About Alex Smith For Week 17
4 years agoThe Washington Football Team is optimistic that quarterback Alex Smith (calf) will be back for Week 17 against the Eagles on Sunday night. The team was also optimistic last week that he would play in Week 16 against the Panthers, but that ultimately did not happen, so we'll have to see how much he can do in practice this week. Smith has missed the last two games with a calf strain. With a division title on the line in the regular season finale, Washington will be hoping to have Smith under center. The veteran signal-caller led the team as a top-10 offense in the league during his five starts, so they will be doing everything in their power to get him ready to play. But even against a beatable Eagles offense, Smith would be just a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes if he returns to action.
