Walker Jenkins Heating up at Double-A
Walker Jenkins is beginning to find his swing after an injury-riddled first half. The top prospect in Minnesota missed nearly two months of action due to an ankle sprain. However, since returning to Double-A, Jenkins has been quite productive and could push for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks. Over his last 20 games with Double-A Wichita, the No. 14-ranked prospect on MLB.com has posted an impressive .312/.432/.468 slash line with four doubles, one triple, two home runs, and three stolen bases. During this stretch, Jenkins has held a 16:15 K:BB. While recovering from his injury, he spent a brief eight-game assignment with Low-A Fort Myers, where he posted a .280/.419/.400 line. Given how quickly he has settled in, Jenkins could be in the mix to join St. Paul later in the second half.
