Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso will start their season opener Friday against the Montreal Canadiens. It should be noted that Alex Nedeljkovic has been confirmed for the back end of their back-to-back games Saturday against New Jersey. Still, giving Husso the opener likely means he has a leg up in this goalie tandem. Last year, Husso was rock solid for the St. Louis Blues, posting a 25-7-6 record with a .919 SV% and 2.56 GAA (15.0 GSAA) over 40 games. Nedeljkovic, on the other hand, posted a 20-24-9 record with a .901 SV% and 3.31 GAA (-11.0 GSAA) over 59 games. Although they are likely to split starts early in the season, it seems Husso is the goalie to have in this tandem, at least for now.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
