Vikings Considered Benching Joshua Dobbs Late On Monday Night
1 year agoMinnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said the team will "take a look at everything" at quarterback after their bye in Week 13 and also acknowledged he thought about putting Nick Mullens in before Joshua Dobbs' touchdown drive in the tough 12-10 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. "It started to get to the point where I was thinking about what would give us a spark," O'Connell said. Dobbs had done nothing to that point before leading the team's lone touchdown drive and finished with 185 passing yards and four damaging interceptions. The 28-year-old has come back down to Earth after an impressive start to his Vikings tenure. Dobbs probably gives the team the best chance to win over Mullens or Jaren Hall, but he's going to need to clean up the turnovers to keep the job if they give him another start in Week 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Dec. 10.
