Tyler Black Back With The Brewers
6 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers recalled infield prospect Tyler Black from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday and optioned infielder Oliver Dunn to Nashville in a corresponding move. The club's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, made his major-league debut earlier this year but only played in seven games and went 5-for-22 (.227) with no home runs, two stolen bases, one walk and eight strikeouts. The 23-year-old former 33rd overall pick in 2021 out of Wright State hit .275/.375/.483 with an .858 OPS, nine home runs, 41 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 53 games for Nashville this year, but he still doesn't have a clear path to playing time in Milwaukee as long as both Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz remain healthy. At best, Black, who isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the hosting Los Angeles Angels, will be a speed option for fantasy managers in NL-only leagues in the short term.
