Tyler Anderson Stumbles Against St. Louis
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Anderson entered Monday's game on a streak of five straight quality starts, and for six innings, he was just as dominant. Entering the seventh inning, Anderson was at just 72 pitches and had been cruising outside of a solo shot by Jedd Gyorko. Unfortunately, Anderson's timing fell apart in the seventh inning and he walked three straight batters to load the bases with no outs before being replaced. Scott Oberg then walked in a run and allowed a single to finish clearing the bases, saddling Anderson with a no-decision and killing his quality start streak. Though the final numbers weren't pretty, owners shouldn't overreact to this start. The loss of control was worrisome, but there's still way more good evidence to ride on than bad here.
