Tua Tagovailoa Has Made Miraculous Recovery From Hip Surgery
4 years agoMiami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (hip), the fifth overall pick in April, has continued to make significant progress in his recovery from hip surgery. "He’s doing miraculously well," said Kevin Wilk, a renowned physical therapist. Tagovailoa was expected to move from Alabama to South Florida last weekend. He spends around three and a half hours each workout on his hip, his ankles and his left shoulder. "He’s laser focused. One of the most focused I’ve ever seen anybody, to be honest," Wilk said. Tagovailoa's healing process has gone extremely well, and he's not dealing with a lack of blood supply in his hip area. But the impressive rookie still has a ways to go and has yet to take part in an NFL practice or endure the day-to-day grind of minicamp. It would be optimistic to expect him to start in Week 1, and the Dolphins will be very cautious with Ryan Fitzpatrick proving last year that he's capable of leading the team to victories. Tagovailoa will be an early pick in keeper/dynasty leagues, but he might not make a huge fantasy impact in redraft leagues, depending on how soon he sees the field.
