Triston McKenzie Looks Outstanding In Season Debut
2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie took the mound for the season debut against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. The right-hander had been sidelined all season up to this point due to a lingering shoulder issue. He didn't look rusty at all during this game. McKenzie threw five scoreless innings, allowing one hit, and striking out 10 batters in the 2-1 win. It was his first start of the season, so the Guardians limited him to a 79-pitch outing, but that should increase as time goes on. The 25-year-old had a breakout season in 2022 and appears locked in once again.
