Trey Sermon Designated To Return From Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers opened the 21-day practice window for rookie running back Trey Sermon (ankle) to return from Injured Reserve on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the team waived linebacker Tyrell Adams. There's a chance that the Niners will activate the 22-year-old and have him active on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans, although there's no reason to rush him with Elijah Mitchell (knee) improving and Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty also healthy. The third-rounder hasn't seen much action in his first nine NFL games, carrying 41 times for 167 yards and one touchdown while catching three of four targets for 26 yards. Sermon will strictly serve as RB depth the rest of the season, so he's really only worth stashing in dynasty/keeper formats.
