1 year agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story is primarily known for his penchant for home runs and strikeouts, but he's been making obvious strides at trying to broaden his hitting skills and focus a little more on contact. Overall, he's making contact 77% of the time, 7% more than in 2017, and he's striking out 25% of the time, a 9% improvement. Recently, he's improved those numbers even more. Over his last eight games, Story has struck out just 15% of the time, and he's hitting .333 while making contact on 82% of his swings. He's hit safely in seven of the eight games, and he's racked up four doubles in that time. Story will always have a ton of power, but his turn to being a more complete hitter is a pleasant surprise.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
