Trevor Megill Picks Up 12th Save On Saturday
6 months agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill picked up his 12th save of the season in Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Reds. Megill walked Elly De La Cruz to start the ninth inning, who promptly stole second and then scored on Jeimer Candelario's double. That was the extent of the damage, however, as the 30-year-old was able to record three consecutive outs after that. Megill has been solid for the Brewers this season, posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, a 23.2% K-BB%, 12 saves, three holds, and just one blown save. He only needs to hold down the role for about another month as Devin Williams is expected back sometime after the All-Star break.
