Travis Homer Takes Over
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie running back Travis Homer got a rough reminder of the fact that anyone can play on any given Sunday. Homer was thrust into the starting role when both Chris Carson (hip) and C.J. Prosise (arm) went down with injuries against the Cardinals. To further compound his pressure, it appears both backs are going to be lost for the season. That leaves Homer as the only active back on the 53-man roster for the moment. After the game, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that management will be aggressively looking for moves that can be made, but for now, it looks like Homer may be carrying the load. A division-deciding matchup against one of the best defenses in the league awaits, and the playoffs are after that. If Homer wanted a chance to prove himself, he's certainly got it now.
