Tony Wolters Gets The Bat Working
6 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Tony Wolters is no offensive wonder, but even a glove-first catcher can get hot at the plate. Wolters has racked up five hits in his last two games after he had a 3-for-4 performance against the Phillies on Thursday. All three hits were singles, but he knocked a pair of doubles in his last game and has shown that he doesn't try to do too much at the plate. Wolters sees regular starts, as the other side of his platoon is Chris Iannetta, the equivalent of a baseball senior citizen, so he should see regular at-bats throughout the season. For those in two-catcher leagues, Wolters is a nice complement to a more offensively-minded backstop.
