Tony Pollard Should Be Full Strength Before Training Camp
2 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard (ankle, leg) had surgery on his broken left fibula and high-ankle sprain on Tuesday that he suffered in the Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers, according to a source. Pollard should be at full strength well before training camp. The fact that he's scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March will complicate things, though. He was a top-10 fantasy RB in 2022 and has looked way more explosive than Ezekiel Elliott the last two seasons, so the Cowboys will likely explore every way to keep him in 2023, including the franchise tag. When healthy, the 25-year-old RB is a threat to score whenever he has the ball in his hands. If he returns to Dallas and Elliott is gone, Pollard will have clear RB1 upside.
