Thunder in Talks With Euro Star Vasilije Micic
1 year agoAccording to European basketball insider Christos Tsaltas, former EuroLeague MVP Vasilije Micic has decided to play in the NBA next season. His rights belong to the Oklahoma City Thunder and talks are ongoing between him and the team, with a potential trade not ruled out. The 29-year-old guard has spent the last five seasons with Anadolu Efes in Turkey, winning the EuroLeague twice and being an All-EuroLeague selection three times. He averaged 17.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 31.1 in the premier European basketball competition this past season. With the Thunder going with a youth movement, it's unlikely that the Serbian will suit up for them, but he appears to have his mind set on playing NBA basketball in 2023-24. Tsaltas notes that Micic is ready to move to North America even if he has to "sacrifice money, or playing minutes, or even if the level of the team is not commensurate with what he desires."
