Thomas Detry A Potential Fade At FedEx St. Jude
4 months agoThomas Detry has earned the reputation as a DFS darling for fantasy managers over the last several months. The 31-year-old Belgian has rewarded his owners with three top-10 finishes and only two missed cuts in his last 11 events dating back to April. He's likely to be a popular option again this week with his $6,900 DraftKings salary, but those considering exposure to him may want to proceed with caution. Over the last 24 rounds, Detry ranks in the bottom half of the field in a statistics that are crucial for success at TPC Southwind, including driving accuracy, weighted approach play, opportunities gained, bogey avoidance, and par 4 and 5 scoring. He also finished 61st out of 70 golfers at this tournament last year, losing close to seven and a half strokes from tee-to-green along the way. The current OWGR No. 55 is one of the best putters in the field, but these greens are notoriously easy and will likely negate the advantage he typically has with the flat stick. Fantasy managers choosing to invest in Detry this week should strongly consider the route of limited exposure, if any at all.
