Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (concussion) took part in an optional skate on Thursday and there is hope that he can finally make his return to the lineup Friday versus Anaheim. He has been skating for a while now and there were suggestions of him potentially returning Wednesday against Vegas, but Chabot ended up missing his fifth consecutive game. The team has badly struggled without him, going 1-4-0 with a 3.80 goals-against average. Chabot sits on six points through 14 games this season and also boasts 34 shots with 20 hits and 22 blocks.
