Tevin Coleman Misses Another Practice
3 years agoNew York Jets running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday. After coming into the season expected to be the Jets primary running back, Coleman has fallen to No. 3 on the running back depth chart behind Michael Carter and Ty Johnson. The 28-year-old also missed last week's loss to the New England Patriots and appears to be on track to miss his second straight game. With Coleman out in Week 7, Carter had 11 carries for 37 yards and caught eight of nine targets for 67 yards. Johnson had just five rushing attempts for six yards while catching six of seven targets for 65 yards in the blowout loss. Carter and Johnson won't have that kind of volume in the passing attack each week, but they should see more work again this week with Coleman likely out. Carter is the preferred option on early downs and will an RB3/flex this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.
