Teoscar Hernandez 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Remains Top Target for RBI Batting in Elite Lineup
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez had a bit of a down season in 2025, but still finished the season holding a .247/.287/.454 line with 25 home runs and five stolen bases. He tallied 65 runs but remained a high-end contributor in RBI, bringing in 89. This was his third-straight season tallying at least 89 RBI and his fifth-straight season launching at least 25 long balls. However, after posting a .272 AVG in his first season in Los Angeles in 2024, Hernandez saw that total plummet to .247 this past season. Despite generating a .250 xBA, Hernandez saw his barrel rate (11.5%) drop by three points and his hard-hit rate drop by two points (to 46.1%), both of which were still above the average marks. While he continued to hit fastballs at a high level, Hernandez's struggles came against offspeed pitches, as he generated a low .276 xwOBA against them, a large drop from the .359 xwOBA the year prior. Despite this, his elite production against fastballs (.372 xwOBA) should keep his floor high, especially from a power perspective. In addition to his safe floor for power, Hernandez should remain a top target for counting stats, especially RBI, as he will likely bat in the heart of the Dodgers' lineup behind Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and newly-acquired Kyle Tucker. The even stronger lineup should push Hernandez back into the 95+ RBI territory with the upside to reach the 30-HR plateau. While his high strikeout profile (24.5% K%) makes him tougher to roster in points leagues, he remains a high-end No. 3 OF in category leagues, going off as the No. 30 OF at pick 129.4 in NFBC drafts.
