Taysom Hill Will Play Through Mallet Finger
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints doctors determined that quarterback Taysom Hill (finger) suffered a mallet-finger injury in the Thursday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but it will not require surgery considering it's not as extensive as the one that Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson suffered earlier this year, according to a source. So Hill will try to play through the finger injury to his throwing hand after he went 19-for-41 for 264 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions in his first start of 2021. The 31-year-old was electric with his legs, though, rushing 11 times for 101 yards on the ground. Hill has never been considered above-average as an NFL passer, but the upside he provides on the ground will put him in the low-end QB1 conversation as long as he continues to start for the Saints.
