Taylor Trammell Traded To Padres

The Padres have acquired Cincinnati Reds prospect outfielder Taylor Trammell, per The Athletic’s Dennis Lin. As part of a three-team deal, the Friars will ship outfielder Franmil Reyes, pitcher Logan Allen and infielder/outfielder Victor Nova to the Cleveland Indians, The Reds receive stud starter Trevor Bauer in return. Trammell, the Reds No. 1 prospect and No. 30 overall currently holds a .688 OPS with six homers and 17 steals across 377 Double-A plate appearances. The 21-year-old lefty will conceivably be San Diego’s outfielder of the future, but will enter a backlog at the position. Unless the Padres intend on moving other major league-ready outfielders like Wil Myers, Manuel Margot, Hunter Renfroe or Josh Naylor, it’ll be an uphill climb for Trammell. Stay tuned.
