T.J. Watt 2020 Outlook: Steel City's Sack Master Does It Again
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt is an absolute force on the football field. He can wreck any game in an instant, and he is only getting better. Over the last two seasons, Watt has racked up 27.5 sacks, and last year he took his game to another level by forcing a staggering eight fumbles and recovering four himself on his way to a first-team All-Pro finish. He also improved in coverage, as evidenced by his two interceptions and seven passes defended. He is listed as a linebacker, but the 6’4” sack machine mainly acts as a pure pass rusher at this point. The Steelers Defense has always been known as one of the most ferocious and physical defenses in the league, and Watt is helping the team reclaim that identity. When all is said and done, he might be looked at as the best Watt brother. There are no weaknesses to his game, and the former Wisconsin Badger has gotten better every year. In IDP leagues, he is a lock for double-digit sacks, and fantasy owners would be wise to make him one of the first defensive players off the board, if not the first. Additionally, dynasty owners should go out and trade for him since he is only 25 years old, and the Steelers just picked up his fifth-year option, locking him up through the 2021 season. Regardless of the league, draft him with confidence and enjoy watching him destroy opposing offensive linemen and quarterbacks.
