T.J. Hockenson Going On Injured Reserve
5 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia said rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson (ankle) is going on Injured Reserve, which will end his rookie season. With just four games to play in a lost season, it makes sense for Detroit to shut Hockenson down. The 22-year-old posted his best numbers in the season opener, going for six catches, 131 yards and a touchdown. He never went over 56 yards in a game after that and had just one more touchdown. Despite the letdown after a strong Week 1, Hockenson has a bright future and should eventually become a TE1 for fantasy owners if the position remains a wasteland. Jesse James and Logan Thomas should hold down the fort the rest of the way, but neither tight end is appealing in fantasy, especially with David Blough at quarterback.
