Stefon Diggs 2021 Outlook: Finally Getting The Fantasy Respect He Deserves
4 years agoHeading into the 2020 season, most of the talk around Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs was about how bad that move would be for fantasy purposes. Leaving the reliability of Kirk Cousins for one of the NFL's least accurate passers in Josh Allen? There was no way that would work. Except, Allen took a huge leap in 2020, completing 69.2 percent of his passes, a big jump from the 58.8 percent he completed in 2019. Diggs was a big part of that as he led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards with 127 receptions and 1,535 yards. It was the best season of Diggs' NFL career, despite a drop in yards per reception from 17.9 in 2019 to 12.1 in 2020. Now, Diggs is in the conversation to be the first wide receiver drafted in redraft leagues this season. There's still some risk in that, as Allen's one-year jump was out of line with his previous performance, but if you believe that the Allen/Diggs connection is as real as it looked in 2020, then there's good reason to trust him over guys like Davante Adams or Tyreek Hill, as Diggs seems likely to be targeted more than either of those players.
