Steelers to Place DeShon Elliot on Injured Reserve
Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliot (knee) will be placed on Injured Reserve after hyperextending his knee in their Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Elliot's ACL is reportedly intact, but the injury is significant enough that the Steelers are bracing for the 28-year-old safety to miss the remainder of the season. As a result of the disappointing news, the Steelers agreed to a trade with the New England Patriots for veteran safety Kyle Dugger. Dugger should slide into Elliot's strong safety position, where he recorded 38 tackles, two passes defended, one forced fumble, and an interception in five games this season.
