Spencer Rattler 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Rattler Not on Fantasy Radar Entering 2025
Once viewed as a highly touted prospect, New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler did not have much success as a rookie last year. He threw for 1,317 passing yards, just four touchdowns against five interceptions, and only completed 57% of his passes. Following the sudden retirement of Derek Carr, Rattler enters the 2025 season in a battle with rookie Tyler Shough for the Saints' QB1 job. Shough was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft and figures to have the inside track to the starting gig. Still, Saints head coach Kellen Moore has declared an open battle for the position, so Rattler could still win the starting job. Even if he does, Rattler showed little promise as a rookie in 2024 and carries little fantasy value. Rattler can remain safely undrafted in traditional single-quarterback leagues. His only real fantasy value is in superflex leagues. Even then, Rattler should only be viewed as a bench stash or a "break glass in case of emergency" QB2 option.
