The San Jose Sharks have resigned goaltender Josef Korenar to a one-year contract. The 23-year-old goaltender was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of the Czech Republic. He had a strong 2020-21 season split between Europe and the American Hockey League — especially during the playoffs. He also appeared in 10 games at the NHL level where he posted a 3.17 GAA and .899 SV%. Ideally, Korenar will spend the 2021-22 season back in the AHL and serve as the club's third-string goalie while gaining valuable experience playing every day. Underperforming veteran goaltender Martin Jones is the only other goalie on the club's active roster and could be at the risk of a buyout or he could be left exposed during the upcoming expansion draft.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
