Shane McClanahan Should Resume Throwing Off a Mound "Soon"
Shane McClanahan (triceps) received "very good" news from nerve specialist Dr. Gregory J. Pearl on Tuesday and should start throwing off a mound "soon." McClanahan met with Pearl after not feeling as good as he'd hoped following his first full-distance bullpen session on June 7 while throwing 10-12 pitches. The 28-year-old has yet to pitch in 2025, and because of this setback, he's now unlikely to be able to make his season debut until some point in August. The former 31st overall pick in 2018 out of South Florida was an All-Star in both 2022 and 2023 and has proven he can be a fantasy ace when healthy, so he should be stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers. McClanahan had a combined 2.85 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 315 strikeouts and 79 walks in 49 starts in 2022 and 2023 before missing all of last year.
