1 year agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put together a super-productive performance for Canada against New Zealand on Saturday, tallying 26 points and six steals with three assists and a block in just 20 minutes of action. Gilgeous-Alexander started off hot with 11 first-quarter points and eventually led the team to a 107-76 victory. Canada started its pre-World Cup schedule with an 86-81 loss to Germany, where Gilgeous-Alexander struggled and shot only 2-for-10 from the field for an eight-point effort in 22 minutes. The Thunder guard bounced back in a big way and similar efforts are expected from him at the World Cup. The 25-year-old looks set to be one of the stars of the show at the tournament, and Gilgeous-Alexander should build up some nice momentum ahead of the new NBA campaign.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
