Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones scored his first goal of the season in overtime on Friday as the Blackhawks defeated the visiting New York Islanders by a 4-3 score. The veteran rearguard beat Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin from the high slot with plenty of traffic aiding his wrister past the Russian netminder. Jones has endured a down season offensively, like many Blackhawks skaters, as he now has just 13 points in 31 games along with 72 shots on goal and a minus-eight rating in that time. He managed 12 goals and 37 points across 72 games last season but has once again been hit with the injury bug this time around. He is still logging 25:27 of ice time per game, good for fourth-most in the NHL.--Brenton Kemp
