Seth Halvorsen Secures the Save on Monday
Seth Halvorsen closed out his team's 6-4 win in Washington on Monday night to earn his fourth save of the season. The 24-year-old right has four saves and four holds in his 29 games this season, posting a 4.40 ERA and 4.54 FIP in his 28 2/3 innings. He has 26 strikeouts and 28 hits allowed in those innings, and he has provided scoreless relief in eight of his last 10 appearances. On Monday, he had to work around a leadoff walk to Luis Garcia Jr., but got a double-play from Brady House before getting Josh Bell to ground out to first to end the game. The Rockies haven't had many save chances this season, but have been playing better lately. Halvorsen has been their primary closer when needed this season and should stay in that role for now, making him potentially a sneaky source of saves.
