Sean Murphy Back In The Starting Lineup Tuesday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the New York Mets and veteran right-hander Carlos Carrasco. Murphy didn't start Sunday's game but ended up making three pinch-hit plate appearances. However, with the Braves idle on Monday, Murphy should be rested up for Tuesday night's divisional contest. The former A's backstop has exploded at the plate in his first season in Atlanta, hitting .289 with 11 homers and a .424 xwOBA that ranks fourth in all of baseball. Add in his elite defense and Murphy's 2.8 fWAR is also good for fourth in the bigs. He'll hit cleanup and catch right-hander Bryce Elder Tuesday night at Truist Park in Atlanta.
