Scott Schebler 2019 Outlook: Undervalued Contributor
6 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Scott Schebler yet again demonstrated the potential he can bring to fantasy rosters. In 2017, he hit 30 homers, stole five bases, and had a batting average (.233) that was dragged down by a .248 BABIP. Schebler started 2018 off well, hitting 12 homers with a .278 batting average and stealing three bases. However, in mid-July, he suffered a shoulder strain that affected his performance for the rest of the year. He finished the year with 17 bombs to go with four stolen bases and a .255 AVG. Also, Schebler is unique and superior to many of his lefty peers who have troubles with southpaws as he thrives to a .296 batting average against them. The Reds have made many improvements to their lineup this offseason. The offensive additions that will likely assist in Schebler producing numbers he hasn’t seen in the past. Also, he finally gets an opportunity to play full-time in centerfield in 2019 now that Billy Hamilton has moved on. Schebler currently has an ADP of 296, which allows owners to obtain solid production in an improved lineup at a minimal price.
