Scott Oberg To Be Primary Closer In Wade Davis' Absence
6 years agoColorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that relief pitcher Scott Oberg will operate as the primary closer in the absence of closer Wade Davis (oblique). Black said that Davis suffered the injury last Tuesday in Boston. Oberg, 29, is 1-0 this year with a 1.77 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 13 K's in 20 1/3 innings over 18 outings. He's been a bit fortunate with 11 walks and just the 5.8 K/9, and he only has two saves to his name in his career in five seasons. But if you're desperate for saves at this juncture, you must consider picking Oberg up in the short term.
